so tonight I ate it....made some sash out of one fillet, was hard to do because of how the bones run through the fillet, the fat was astonishing, when I butterflied the fish, it was like wax on the inside, the sash slices had marbled fat...was crunchy...but as you all know, white meat sash, just tastes like shoyu and wasabi

the other half I made chineses style with the hot oil, bit of black bean....was super good....I guess because of the fat content, the meat resembled butterfish, the texture, even my wife noticed it and commented how it was so similar....was the best menpachi I ever ate.

but the whole time I was eating it I couldn't help but to think about how much fat this thing had....and if it had cig...I know unlikely in menpachi, but possible...and since cig attaches itself to fat cells...well...so far so good.

Even tho it was a great meal I bet it would have 1,000,000,000 X better if you were 100% sure that it didnt have cig. Even tho the fish taste great it sometimes can be scary just thinking about cig and ruining my meal.

Glad you sashed part of it, I shot a 1lb+ one a few weeks ago, sashed it and thought it was great. Was kinda funny I had the Kole and Menpachi records mixed up in my head so I thought I had a record :P

you know if you left out the word "menpachi" in this post, i would have thought you were talking about an uku or ahi or something....then again, this was a fatty of a menpachi. i hope you shared with the wife! :D
