ive been diving my whole life and within the pass 10yrs ive been seeing more and more people getting heavy into diving. im just hear to say that for those who over fish and catch more than that u would eat jus so you can have one nice picture on da wall with one full stringer F#*@k Y%0 cause the ocean is our ice box and if u take more than u can eat not going have n e ting later on. also know wat u stay shooting before u shoot um. if u dunno wat u stay shooting no shoot um, no shoot and ask later. one more ting no practice on da good fish if u first starting out, cause most of da time u not going land one good shot and only to have da fish get away and die in some hole u cannot get to later. practice on da invasives. so know wat like catch, put a limit on it and follow da regulation sizes den we all can b happy. jus some of my thoughts. aloha

I hear you rush....ive been diving for about 3 yrs and i see the decrease but may be not as bad as you.....i no a diver who dives just to dive and shoot fish and the fish he shoots, he never eats it and like you said they need a nice picture....the thing is to, he never eats fish..... even when we make a good dish with goats, uhu, and etc. he only takes a little piece and thats all.

I agree that most all of us need to practice our hunting tactics and shot placement more with invasive's...

and on top of what was said...no need shoot the biggest kumu/joe/uhu/ or any fish for that matter. the fact is that the larger fish make more eggs/sperm and produce healthier larva!! everyone knows this already and if you dont then here it is! set not only a minimum size limit but also a MAXIMUM size limit. i understand that it is not against the law to shoot a 5lb kumu, just make it your own personal policy not to! let the big boys and girls spawn!!

alohas thanks for bringing up this topic!

I completely agree! The last few times I went out I came back with an empty stringer.
It's not that I didn't see fish. I just didn't see any that I'd like to eat. Saw a few nice Papio's. But I no like eat that.

Also all the Tako that we found were too small.

I did see a few Roi's but those sucka's are sly. Or I just really suck!

No shame empty stringer! Mo shame busted for baby fish!

I sure hope that all of us in this sport respect the ocean!
