ok, well i noticed recently that there have been a lot of stories dealing with sharks... granted, other than the nice catch its about one of the only other things that happen worth mentioning. so i decided to spice things up. i was diving with two buddies of mine out on the north shore side. we were maybe in about 15ft of water, even though we were pretty far from shore, and had been out for a good hour. we really didn't see fish worth shooting, then out of the corner of my eye i saw this HUGE black figure. now the first thing that came to mind was... "oh my god, that's a huge f@#$ing shark!!!" then i realized that it wasn't, but i still couldn't figure out what it was since it was just outside of clear visibility range. so me, being the good super slueth that i am, decide to get closer and get a better look. i slowly made my way toward the unknown object, while still looking out for anything else that might jump out of nowhere and put me on an instant 20lb weight loss program. now as i got close enough to see what it was i turned around to make sure that i wasn't too far from my buddies and when i turned back all i saw were these two huge sea turtles going at it. up until now i've only seen turtles swimming, resting on the sea floor, or coming out of caves scaring the s--t out of me... but this time i saw a whole new side of them. the male was mounted on the female and there they floated mid water, mating. it was one of those things that shocked me so much that i started laughing and almost drowned because i was under at the time. i thought that was so great that i called over my buddies. as they came to me, i swam closer to see how close i could get... then i thought "what if the male mistakes me for a female???" as soon as i thought that i immediatly stopped and put it in reverse pretty quick. and that's pretty much how it ended... now i don't know how funny that was but my buddies and i found it hilarious.

Location: Central Maui (Kahului) but can go wherever da fish are
Picture your favorite 80's B-Movie Horror..."Oh my god, they're all dead. There's a killer on the loose, what do we do? Wait, what's that noise downsntairs, let's go investigate!"

Remember the "nuisance seal" that they've had to relocate several times? He always got frisky with the female swimmers and would nip the males. He even held one lady underwater here on Maui as he was trying to mount her.

Do they have a support group for victims of marine attacks? On the bright side, you got to see something that most will proabbly never see in their lifetime.

File a report with the police, get a TRO on the seal, and take him to court.. In this day and age you could probably win the court case against the seal too
