LAKE WORTH, FL – June 1, 2009 – SpearoTek, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Beuchat International in the U.S., announced today that Kimi Werner, 2008 Women’s National Spearfishing Champion, was signed to Team Beuchat. Werner grew up on Maui and started fishing and diving at the age of four. Returning to spearfishing as an adult, Werner’s trajectory to the forefront of the sport has been nothing short of extraordinary. Quickly making a name for herself based on her performance at local competitions, Werner headed to the International Pacific Cup in April 2008, where she took first place. From this astonishing win, Werner, along with partner Andy Tamasese, won the mixed division of the 2008 USA National Championships of Spearfishing in Rhode Island. Werner then went on to win the titles of Women’s National Champion, and Rookie of the Year.
