SYNOPSIS: Troy, Jeff and I jumped in the day after Puna was flat as a tack. I usually try to shoot roi or toau to offset a good fish like a goat, so I went after a toau that ducked under a small arch. After the second drop, I shot it and strung it up on my tag line since I forgot a stringer. I knew the fish was big, but didn’t realize how big it actually was until the guys said something on land. The fish curled really badly when my dad cooked it, but at least I saved a bunch of little fishies lives from being eaten by an introduced fish.

SYNOPSIS: Rick, Angela, Andy, Mike, Derek and I went out on the boat to do some reef diving down south. We did a couple of drifts along a nice area that happened to have quite a bit of current. I saw some large nenue on one drift, but couldn’t get back up to them with all the water flow. I mentioned to Rick that I saw some big nenues and at the end of the drifts, Rick called me over to a spot where the monster nenues had congregated and where, for some reason, there was no current. I made about 5 drops. There were so many nenue around that I couldn’t pick out one to shoot. Finally, with everyone waiting to move on, I took a shot and ended up with 2!
