Throughout the years, the World Spearfishing Championships have been held to determine which country can lay claim to the World’s Best Divers. Every two years, teams from around the world meet in various countries for a 2 day tournament to prove which country’s team have the skills to be deemed the World Champions. The determination comes through the use of points. Points are issued per fish, and per pound with the results being the cumulative amount of both. The Individual Champion is determined by that diver’s sole catch and the Team Champions are determined by the team’s combined catch.
